Summer Heat Fashion Week Model Search
The first Summer Heat Fashion Week will be hosted in Northern Cape in November for the Summer 2017/2018 season. Each year (and season) Summer Heat Fashion Week will be hosted in a different province of South Africa.
This is a Fashion Week with a difference. Apart from the huge opportunity for models to be selected to walk for Summer Heat Fashion Week, this is also a competition and all selected models will stand the chance to be spotted by international scouts
1. Summer Heat Fashion Week Model Search
Summer Heat representatives will be searching Northern Cape and surrounds for models who can potentially represent their brand, and that of the designers selected, for the Summer Heat Fashion Week Summer 2017/2018 season to be held in Kimberley, Northern Cape in November 2017
Models in the following categories will be considered
Males: 7 – 12 yrs
Males: 16 yrs+
Females: 7 – 12 yrs
Females: 13 yrs+
Curvy Models (Females 13 yrs+)

2. Summer Heat Fashion Week Model Search competition

All models who are selected to walk for the Summer Heat Fashion Week will be entered into the Summer Heat Fashion Week Model of the Season competition, where judges will select winners in each category to represent the Summer Heat Fashion Week Brand for a year from the date of selection
3. International scouts
International showcase scouts will attend the Summer Heat Fashion Week to select models to participate in the GoTalent! Performing Arts Talent Showcase which is held annually. GoTalent! is an internationally linked platform for models, actors, singers and dancers to have the opportunity to perform and audition in front of international casting agents, agency directors, and top-brand studios though the largest model and talent convention in the world, iPOP LA  in Los Angeles, USA
To audition to walk for the Fashion Week and be in line for the ultimate title of Summer Heat Fashion Week Model for Summer 2017/2018, all you need to do is send in your application by clicking on the link at the bottom of this page.
How it works:
Round 1 (Dates as below)
Models audition for the Summer Heat Fashion Week Scouts
Successful candidates will be invited to meet the designers in the second round of the competition
Every model selected will receive 8 personalised Z-Cards to use in Round 2
Round 2 (14 and / or 15 October)
Designers will select models that they would like to have wear their outfits.
This round will take place in Kimberley
Round 3 (8 – 12 November)
Final fittings and rehearsals will take place on Wednesday and Thursday.
Models will walk for the designers they were selected by on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
On the Sunday of Summer Heat Fashion Week each model who participated in The Summer Heat Fashion Week will walk for the judges. A Summer Heat Fashion Week Model of the Season will be selected in each category.
Model auditions will take place as follows:
September 9 – Prieska
September 10 – De Aar
September 16 – Warrenton
September 17 – Taung
September 23 – Kuruman
September 24 – Upington
September 30 – Bloemfontein
October 1 – Bloemfontein
October 7 – Kimberley
October 8 - Kimberley
Guidelines for auditions:
  • All models must do a High Fashion Walk only on a straight ramp. No Pageant walk accepted
  • All female models in the 7 – 12 yrs category must wear flat shoes / pumps
  • All female models in the 13 yrs+ category must wear heels (no wedges or platforms allowed)
  • All models must wear black pants (jeans are accepted) and a black shirt (T-shirts and vests are accepted). Please note: no evening dresses / cocktail wear will be allowed at auditions
  • All models must know their measurements when they audition
  • Make-up and hair must be kept as natural as possible for the auditions. Hair must be kept away from the face.
Models who are judged as the Summer Heat Fashion Week Model of the Season in each category will be given tasks related to community projects that are linked to the government and the department of education and will be requested to appear at selected events as Summer Heat Fashion Week representatives. They will be able to use these events to grow their confidence, build their brand and to give motivation and share skills in the youth development
